Medical Declaration / Health and Safety
Any person having any session/s with Channel Kayaks must be medically fit to participate in the activity. If you have any medical conditions that may affect you in the activity, you must inform us before booking the session and ideally consult your GP.

What to Expect
You will be required to arrive early in preparation for your trip.
Please ensure that you have read the disclaimer before booking.

Our Facilities

Our sessions run from outside The Boathouse in Bath, BA1 3NB. Food, drink and toilets are inside the pub. Please note we only have limited changing facilities at present.

Our Equipment
We provide standard, high quality 50N buoyancy aids for children and adults but also have
100N life vests for junior paddlers and toddlers.

Group sizes
Maximum group size is up to 24 persons which allows for 6 persons per craft. The instructor ratio is 1 instructor per 2 craft / 12 persons. We currently have two instructors on site. If you have larger groups please contact us via the contact form. Please note that we may need to reduce the number of paddlers per craft on occasion (6 x 18 stone rugby players in one craft would be a problem)

What to wear
In katakanus your feet may get a little wet so we would advise either wet-boots, water shoes or old trainers for the lesson. Wear something comfortable. Please do not wear anything of value that you could possibly lose during the session. For Paddleboarding, wear lightweight quick drying clothing. Do not wear jeans or baggy jogging bottoms as these get very heavy when wet. Ideally bring a change of clothes to change into afterwards.

All our participants MUST wear a PFD / Buoyancy Aid at all times!

Weather Conditions
We will contact you in cases of adverse weather or unsafe conditions. Once a session is booked, presume it will go ahead unless we contact you.

Cancellations

We must receive advance notice, 48 hours prior to the session start date. Channel Kayaks Ltd reserves the right to change the session type or cancel a session if adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances cause a potential danger to persons or equipment. Any cancelled session will be rescheduled to another date and time.

If using vouchers, we will only reschedule the session if we have been given advance warning of up to 48 hours, unless the voucher has not been redeemed or is past its expiry date. If cancelled on the day, I'm afraid you will lose your activity slot.

Do you allow alcohol?
We will not allow anyone to participate if they are 'under the influence' as this is dangerous and a health and safety risk. Feel free to have a drink in the pub afterwards.

Photography and Video(s)
Photo(s) and/or video(s) will be taken on the day (free of charge) unless specified otherwise. Any photos or videos could be placed on social media including our own website to help promote Channel Kayaks plus we also take them on your behalf to share among your friends and family. Please let us know if this is a problem. We will always do our best to respect your wishes.
